Rev. Robert Raschka (Pastor Bob) is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church and has served the UM Church in the former North Indiana Conference. He and his family joined the Salem Chapel family in July, coming from Hammond Woodmar United Methodist Church. He has served churches all over northern Indiana. Previous appointments include United Methodist churches in Hanna, Porter, Howe, Bourbon, and Pretty Prairie.
Presently, in addition to Salem Chapel, Pastor Bob serves at Maple Grove United Methodist Church.
Pastor Bob and his wife, Ruth, have three children, Adam, Adrienne, and Emma. He and Ruth grew up in Crown Point and were high school sweethearts. Presently, Pastor Bob is a member of the South Shore Orchestra out of Valparaiso in which he plays the violin. He is looking forward to a tour of China with the orchestra early next year. He is also an avid Cubs fan.
Pastor Bob is a graduate of Ball State University (Music and Religious Studies) and Asbury Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity). He has served in leadership positions in the Conference and directed church camp for six years. He is looking forward to knowing our community and to leading Salem Chapel in God’s work in our community.
